Findlay Area Insider TipsThe Inside Scoop From Seasoned I-75 Travelers

Traffic & Driving: Watch for sudden slowdowns near the US-68/SR-15 interchange (exits 157-159) - it's a busy commercial area with lots of merging traffic. Ohio State Highway Patrol is active on this stretch, especially between Findlay and Bowling Green. Winter weather can get dicey - this area is in the snow belt and the flat terrain means blowing snow reduces visibility quickly.

Best Rest Stop: The Findlay rest area (southbound around mile marker 161) is one of the nicer ones on this stretch - clean facilities and usually well-maintained.

Food & Fuel: Exit 159 (SR-12) has the most options - typical chains plus local spots. If you want something beyond fast food, Dietsch Brothers (downtown, short detour) is a local institution for ice cream and chocolate since 1937. The 76 Travel Center at exit 157 is reliable for fuel and has decent food options.

Local Quirks: Findlay is "Flag City USA" - you'll see flags everywhere. Findlay is also home to Marathon Petroleum headquarters, so lots of their stations nearby (usually competitive prices). The area smells occasionally due to the oil/gas industry - it's normal, not a problem.
